Flotsam and Jetsam are a thrash/power metal band that started in the 80's. Jason Newstead used to play bass for them. I think I saw them play live twice back in the day. The one time we actually sat on the speakers on the stage. This was way back when First Avenue allowed that. Killer. I still love their first two records, classic metal records. You can get some free Flotsam and Jetsam MP3s over at the official site. Check em out, they'll rock your world. Flotsam and Jetsam Official Site

I don't condone downloading or stealing music. But sometimes it's nice to hear stuff before you buy. Especially with metal, there is so much garbage out there, you almost have to listen before you buy. I have compiled a list of sites that you can preview some metal: http://smetal.blogspot.com/ As usual, if you find something you like...buy it. These are for reference only.

![]() Mike Patton is one of the most talented and unique artists in music…ever. He is a rock god. I realized that when he was doing a cover of Angel of Death with Fantomas or maybe it was the Stroke with Mr. Bungle, or was it the first time I heard King for a Day? read more »

As promissed in an earlier post, I was going to discuss some of the ways to find free MP3’s online. This one is a doozy. It is a wiki called MP3 Blog Listing. It basically is a giant list of blogs who include MP3’s on their site. There are a ton of them listed. This should keep you busy for days. read more »

I know I promised in a previous post I would talk more about free mp3 downloads. Well, if you are into alt.country, americana, cow punk, whatever they are calling it these days. This site is for you. There are lots of Ryan Adams, Jay Farrar, Neko Case and the like there for the taking. Lots of free mp3s. Get em quick, you know how mp3’s are these days.

The internet is not what it used to be. A few years ago, you could get almost anything you wanted. Anything and everything and it was free. This did turn me on to a mess of bands I would have never discovered. And yes, I bought their CD’s, went to their shows, and bought T shirts at the show…I’m a bands dream come true. read more »
