If you like to rock, and you like video games you need to check out Guitar Hero II. This is the funnest game I've played in a long time. I play guitar, so the game seems pretty natural to me. But my 11 year old, picked it up very quickly. I think it's a great idea. Teaches you about rhythm, songs, classic bands, etc. as well as being a blast to play.

Guitar Hero II comes with a guitar. It retails for around $80. Kind of expensive for just one game, but it's way worth it. I ended up buying a second guitar so we can play head to head.

It's kind of like Dance Dance Revolution except you use your fingers to fret each note and pick the string with your other hand. I've already made it through the easy and medium levels. I'm on the hard level which has proved to be extremely challenging. I checked out a few songs on the Expert level and it seemed really, really hard.

The coolest thing about this game was the bands and the songs. I was pretty impressed with the diversity of bands. They had some cool ones like Primus, Lamb of God, Rush, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, plus a ton of others. You can unlock songs, guitars, characthers, etc. along the way.

It's very addicting. Seems like everyone I know who's played Guitar Hero II is a junky. I noticed that a lot of the bars around my house are having Guitar Hero II competitions. Sounds like fun...maybe when I get better.

Guitar Hero II is a great game, check it out if you're looking for something to occupy lots of your free time.
