Other Stuff

Those ugly, obnoxious, gas guzzling Hummers have been trying to get bands to be in their next commercial. They’ve had nothing but bad luck.

They offered to pay Portland band the Thermals $50,000 for their song “It’s Trivia” to be used in a commercial. They said no.

They also offered to pay Washington DC’s Trans Am $180,000 for their song “Total Information Awareness.” They said no.

The band Liliput who has been broken up for almost twenty years was offered $50,000 for their song “Heidi’s Head.” They said no, and this was after 5 years of earning…nothing.

I really respect that these bands had enough dignity to not sell out and take the money. Who would want to have their band associated with a d*#chebag vehicle like that anyway? I’m sure they will find someone, but it’ll probably be Train or some other no talent, hack, sellout band.

Maybe they should check with the Who or Led Zeppelin, they’re trying to cash in…
