Do I Lose My Indie Cred?

I went to my first country (and western) concert over the weekend. I’m wondering how many indie cred points I lose for this?

It was pretty interesting. It was Glen Campbell who I have dug since I was a kid (guilty pleasure) and Clint Black. I had no idea who Clint Black was. Nor do I really care.

The concert made me laugh. People say guys at rock shows are idiots. How about drunk cowboy guys, smokin marlboros, with their boots, hats and buckles, drinking miller lite, yee hawwin, etc. Made me feel a little embarrassed to be a human.  read more »

Syd Barrett Dead at 60

Syd Barrett, the original front man for Pink Floyd was found dead Friday. Syd was 60 years old. He has spent the last 30 or so years avoiding the public eye.

There is so far no cause of death, but reporters say that Syd Barrett died peacefully and that his family is planning a small intimate funeral.

Syd Barrett has suffered from diabetes for many years. The other members of the band were “very upset and sad to learn of Syd Barrett’s death.”

I for one am extremely sad, Syd was an amazing musician and a legend. Even tho he only played on a handful of records, they were brilliant in my eyes. I still listen to Syd as often as I can.
