Sunny Day Real Estate is one of those bands that I got turned onto early in there career. I was lucky enough to catch a couple of back to back, early in their career, shows in the 7th Street Entry. I saw them numerous other times as well. But the 7th Street Entry shows really stand out in my head as historic shows.
» Diary was one of their best records in my opinion. In Circles is the opening track, a killer song and the video is cool as well. If you aren’t familiar with Sunny Day Real Estate, do yourself a favor and pick up Diary.

I’m such a sucker for music from the eighties, it’s kinda sickening. One of the bands, I loved when I was a kid was the Police. I wouldn’t vomit on a sting record if I was paid, but old Police stuff is killer. I love Stewart Copeland. Very talented.
» The Police re-united at the 2007 Grammy awards. I was very excited to see them perform. They, of course, did Roxanne but I’ll let that slide. The afformentioned Stewart was sporting some old man glasses, and the other “two guys” looked quite a bit older. The crowd really went wild, it was pretty cool.

What is the world coming too, first Slayer on Jimmy Kimmel then Lamb of God on Conan O’Brien? Is the world starting to appreciate metal?
» Yes, granted it’s on late night, etc. But this is NBC for Chrissake. At first I thought it was Saturday Night Live. But once they finished, Conan came out and shook their hands. It was a pretty rocking performance, sound could have been a little better. But, it’s metal…on TV!!! They played the song “Pathetic” from their new album Sacrament. read more »
