Other Stuff

You know you are obsessed with a band when you start dreaming about them. I love the Replacements. They are the best rock and roll band, ever. They are rock and roll. Not alternative, not punk, not indie…rock and roll.

Anyway, last night I had a pretty bizzare dream:

I was sitting around watching a bootleg video of the Replacements. It was recorded in a small club, similar to 7th Street Entry. It was pretty early mats cuz tommy looked really young. Plus they still had Bob. The weird thing was, they were a three peice. No Chris. Paul was on guitar and vocals. Tommy was playing bass and keyboards. Bob was on drums.

They played a song or two. Paul Westerberg was smoking a bowl on stage and ad libbing lyrics about pot. Then threw the bowl into the audience. Then suddenly Tommy get’s hit in the eye with a teddy bear. They stopped the show and Tommy jumped into the crowd to get the teddy bear tosser. Then the video ended.

And that was it for my dream. The songs they were playing were cool. Not anything I’ve heard them play. But they did sound very Replacement-esque. I love dreams…
